During last few days we've received multiple reports about Weblock failing to block some ads in different apps. In most cases, it turned out that these were in fact iAd adverts. So, just to be clear here... we've deliberately missed iAd with our predefined filters. We thought that blocking iAd might become a problem during the AppStore review of Weblock. The reason for this is rather obvious... ;)
Because of that, we are not going to include iAd filtering in predefined filters... but... some of you might have noticed the Blacklist tab in Weblock. It's sole purpose is to allow you, The User, to define your own filters and get in control of how (and if) your iOS device downloads parts of the Internet.
So, back to iAd... here goes our tip:
The domains serving iAds are: iadsdk.apple.com and qwapi.com. Bot of them should include subdomains. :)
We wish you all good luck with getting familiar with Blacklist tab. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at [email protected]
